Will an anti-virus expert please give an answer to the following?

Dee-Cee asked:

I’m using windows live one care trial version and have created a support log with detailed firewall information. While reviewing the log, I discovered that virus and spyware scan failed to scan a few files. How exactly do I find out which files the software failed to scan?

I’ve seen other antivirus programs do this. I suspect these are files that are in use, or are compressed, encrypted etc. Something to examine, but not necessarily be alarmed about.

You should have the path of the files that was not scanned, generally a file cannot be scanned if is locked, or is in use, or do not have enough permissions
