    The best antivirus software worth money is Mcafee as i use it and it has additional data base updates to protect you pc for next 2 years if you are gonna update it daily it is gonna be the best

    A free one. Just because its free does not mean it does not have value. Just make sure you run your windows updates automatically.

    A free antivirus would get most people by, but if you want peace of mind and slightly better protection you can buy Kaspersky (by far the expensive, but it has a good reputation), BitDefender or Trend Micro.

    Anti viruses should always be considered your last line of defense because there are many things the user does that puts security at risk. Watch what you download, don’t open suspicious attachments, avoid dodgy sites etc.

    The opinion that because it is free it is not as good does not hold true with Antivirus software, for instance Avast is free for home use but is paid for if it is used commercially – it’s the same software and is excellent.
