I did test 5 different internet security programs over the last 12 months.
Here is my top 3

3rd place – Bitdefender Total Security – good – 8 out of 10

2nd place – Panda Internet Security 2009 – very good 8 ½ out of 10

1st place and in my opinion the best is
ESET Smart Security.- did find infections
the other programs missed – very good 9 out of 10

The other 2 programs I tested, were Kaspersky Internet Security 2009 and
Zone Alarm Security Suite. Both good program, but just not good enough to get in my top 3

I liked ESET that much, that I purchased it and it is now protecting my computer very well.

When you are looking for just an anti virus program, I would recommend
ESET NOD32 anti virus

Try Spyware Cleaner 2009 or Superantispyware. Not much gets past these two.Download.com.

Why you don’t use AVG Free Anti-virus,Avast Anti-virus and Kaspersky. But Kaspersky is needs to buy but AVG don’t need to buy. You can download them free. Norton is not the best anti-virus,but it is a software that is best for detect virus.

I gave up on Norton it slows the computer down too much. It used to be great but that is no longer. Avast finds too many false viruses. Go with AVG more reliable.

Even though it’s not on your list, in my opinion you should use avast! antivirus. It’s a great program for many reasons: it’s completely free, it’s not a resource hog, it’s virus database is updated periodically, and it has realtime monitoring of peer-to-peer, email, internet, and other things. I used to use norton (I had used it for many years and trusted it), but it’s quite slow compared to avast!.

From another view, you should absolutely NOT buy norton 360. It’s terrible. It’s very slow, and it’s hard to disable certain parts of it if you need to (like the firewall, if you are required to for installing a program).

its all of a muchness, i would bail out on all of them and go for AVG avast or similar.

nortons will really slow you down, but my god its a pretty user interface.

I use Norton 2009 and I’m quite happy with it. I’d check out the PCMags reviews, as they’re usually pretty spot-on.
